Crime of the Century

I oftentimes tell myself that I am too busy with life and have no time to meditate and relax, our assignment for this week was to listen to a meditation exercise titled "Crime of the Century". The colors of the rainbow was associated with different parts of the body, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. I was tense from a long day at work, a one hour workout at the gym and rushing to come home to have dinner and prepare for my seminar. After an intense day of feeling rushed and stressed I completed the relaxation exercise, after completing the exercise I felt relaxed and surprisingly energized. Whether its five or twenty-five minutes, either the beginning of the day, during the day or at the end of the day it is important to allow ourselves to experience some sense of calm and rid our bodies of any negative thoughts or feelings.

Rating my physical, spiritual, and psychological well-being on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being optimal well-being and developing goal in the area of physical, spiritual and psychological.
I believe that at some point in my life I would like to experience optimal wellness, but that is a journey that I am willing to endure for the long haul. My physical well-being I would rate an 8, exercise and physical activity is a very important part of my life and I make no excuses for being selfish about sticking with my routine. I would like to step up my physical activity and increase my strength activity to achieve my fitness goal. Nutriton is also an important part of my physical goal, I am not there yet, but with dedication, commitment, and positive self talk, it is very possible and my mental image of myself will soon be my reality. I came a long way to get to this point and I am enjoying every moment of it. I would rate my spiritual well-being a 6, gratitude, meditation, and prayer encompasses spirituality, I am grateful for all of the wondeful blessing in my life and try to share with other when I have the opportunity. I am trying to be more prayerful and include meditation as part of my journey to a healthy lifestyle. Psychological well-being would rate a 5, I am working on learing to focus and taking quiet time for myself.

Psychological, spiritual and physical well-being will obviously mean different things for each individual and will have a different level of proirity in one's life, but ultimately they are all important on our journey towards optimal well-being.

Through that I hope to change somethings that needs to be changed. I do schedule time for myself which is working very well for me at this point, physical fitness is one the things that I have certainly set aside time for, I workout several times per week, it truly is a wonderful feeling.

Creating steps to weight loss success

I watched an episode of the Oprah Winfrey show about a woman who lost over 175 lbs, kept it off for seven years and gained it back. She said the reason she lost the weight was to please everybody else, although she wanted to lose the weight she never felt she did it for herself. She is currently reading the book "Women, Food and God" by Geneen Roth. I recently purchased the book to get some insight on my own life and my struggles. I believe that in order for us to totally be successful in losing weight we have to first know the reason we want to lose the weight. That is one of the steps towards success.
